because +从句 从句有主语+谓语（完整句子）
because of +名词/代词/名词短语 （无主谓结构，仅为名词性成分 ）

二、典型错误与修正

1. ❌ 错误：I was worried because of Mary was late.
✅ 修正：I was worried because Mary was late.
（原因：Mary was late 是完整从句，需用连词 because）
译文：我感到担心，因为玛丽很晚还没来。

2. ❌ 错误：She was late because the traffic.
✅ 修正：She was late because of the traffic.
（原因：the traffic 是名词短语，需用介词短语 because of）
译文：因为交通的缘故，她来晚了。

三、补充用法与例句

1. because（连词）

◦ 可用于回答 why 引导的问句：
— Why were you late?
— Because I missed the bus.

◦ 可与 not...because... 连用，表“不是因为……”：
I didn't go out because it rained.（我没出门是因为下雨了。）

2. because of（介词短语）

◦ 后接代词宾格：She cried because of him.（她因为他哭了。）
